HELP!! a simple way to remove the husk off of walnuts fresh from the tree???

The flavor is strong so a small amount goes a long way. I used to gather black walnuts until I discovered Sam's Club sell hulled nuts a a very reasonable cost. Now we eat black walnuts often...

It would be wonderful to learn that you're picking them too early and your problem would be solved by leaving them on the tree a while longer.

We are very fortunate.... we have a onsite staff dedicated to climbing the tree.... going out on the limbs and picking every single walnut.
unfortunately we dont have any say as to how early they are picked or how many they should leave for us before they run off and stash them in the woods.

Doesnt the weight of the trucks break the walnut shells??

No, weve had trucks and school busses run over blavk walnuts.

Just saw they were english walnuts. Never mind, they will break. Didnt know english had much of a husk, dad has a couple english trees.

An antique corn sheller will take the husks right off once they start to soften. I'm not sure how it works when they are green.
