Just the other day, I had a similar episode with my backhoe... only in reverse. After sitting for two months, backed up to the hoe and couldn't get it to couple to the tractor. Found the clamp blocks frozen in the open position. Penetrating lube and a hammer got them to start moving. Removed the end plates and with large slip-joint pliers, managed to work the clamp blocks off the pins. Sanded the corrosion off the pins and clamp blocks and reassembled with a coating of grease.
After eight years storing the tractor outside, I guess it was my time. From the looks of the parts, I don't think there was ever any lubricant applied to these parts.
