bx24
Hey guys, have a bx24. Was digging out a stump and went to move tractor and I had no forward or reverse. All fluid levels are good. All linkages are engaging correctly. I am able to move it in four wheel drive. Loader and backhoe work fine. If I lift the tires off the ground and in two wheel drive try to run it forward or reverse it will bog down the motor but tires dont move. I pulled filter and put on new one. Cut old filter apart and no metal shavings. With tires off the ground i manually spin a rear tire and the other tire does not move. Is it like a rear wheel drive car and the other tire would turn opposite? Any help would be great.

Sounds like back to the dealer time. Sorry, but I'll bump your thread up.

None of the shift levers are out of position? Hi or low range? 4wd?

Did you have the parking brake on prior to it not moving?

My parking brake does not work. Four wheel drive engages fine. All linkages are in correct position.

Could use some clarification. Does the motor bog down with the tires on the ground or just when you lift them in the air? What happens with the shift lever in high, low, and neutral? Is the shift lever actually moving linkage or has it come loose? Were you using the differential lock? Have you tried disconnecting all the hydraulics, backhoe and loader? What about the position of the three point lever? I only have questions, no real answers other than testing all combinations of hydraulics. Good luck.

Take Care,

Kind of a long shot, but are the BH and FEL levers in the neutral position? I've had mine stick, and loss power to other hdro implements.

The motor bogs down with the tires off the ground. Motor bogs down in low high and neutral. I was not using diffy lock. I have triple checked linkages and are all working correctly. I did try three point in all three positions. Did not disconnect hydraulics but have moved them around and all work fine.

You say the parking brake doesnt work. What happened?

Im wondering if its jammed on internally.

If the diesel motor is bogging down, can you hear the relief kick in? What bothers me is that you say parking park doesnt work. can you post a pic of the parking brake in its current position? Can you actually engage the parking brake lock with foot lever on left? Also, do me a favor - open the engine hood and watch the plunger shutoff. try to move the tractor again. does engine begin to bog and plunger moves same time? I am just trying to eliminate the saftey interlock and shutoff is not fooling anyone thinking engine is bogging. Whats the engine rpm's?

I bought the tractor last week and the brake was not working. The brake lever is all the way up. The brake is not on because I have the tractor off the ground and can easly turn the wheels. I will go out and check the plunger shut off. I have no RPM indicator on this tractor.

OK guys forget the boging out. That was a saftey switch. I have the tires all off the ground and can move the front tires in 4 wheel locked in but can not move rear tires in 2 wheel or 4 wheel.

Thanks for all the help so far.

Did you check the drive shaft to see if it has something(wire) wrapped around it?

thats great news. now to find which safety switch. I am suspecting maybe the pto switch or maybe seat.
Anyways -you do have rpm readout if you have a bx24. Its same as the hour meter. Its just above the steering column. when you turn key on to glow you can glance and see the hours. After starting, you can see the rpms. from 1200- 3400. If you cant see a thing - its possible you got one of those defective lcds units and needs replacing.

My lcd is defective. I am not the original owner so I dont think Kubota will help me. As far as the sfaty switch goes they are all working. I just was not sitting on the seat. That is why it was boging out. SORRY.

So you got it working? If so, at least it was an easy fix, and thanks for fessing up... we all make a few blunders from time to time, particularly after a few hours in the seat exposed to high temperatures and when the equipment is new...LOL

No it is not working. The boging out was a safty switch. I still have no rear wheel drive.

Is there two seperate pumps. One for the drive and one for attachments? Could it be a pump that went out or maybe the diffy?
