Kubota L5240: Craftsman GT6500
Monday I am going to get either a 3830 hst or a 4330hst. The loader by Kubota for the 3830 is 723 and 853 for the 4330. The dealer is trying to sell me on buying a Woods loader ( i think he said a 1620??)

Does anyone have an opinion........Wood or factory. The Woods has slight edge on the dump angle and curl. The dealer says if the Woods loader caused damage to the frame Woods would cover the Kubota but if I, lets say, cracked the frame using the Kubota loader on a Kubota tractor, Kubota would not cover it.

Someone also said that the Woods quick attach used the skid steer equiptment but Kubota only used their own proprietary attachments.

Need help before Monday!

Thanks

Hugh

Something does not sound right here...

If you cracked the frame that implies abuse and I doubt either Woods or Kubota would repair a tractor that was abused.

If the frame failed on its own I imagine Kubota would fix it if the loader was Kubota also.

If the loader was Woods and the tractor Kubota and the frame failed...I would be afraid of the finger pointing that would/could/might follow...

THere are a lot of both Woods and Kubota loaders in service. Neither should cause a problem with the tractor from my perspective.

So that leads right back to the dealer's comment...and I have to say that in my view...something does not smell right...and a comment like that would tend to turn me off and make me wonder why the dealer wants to sell the woods rather than the Kubota loader...and I can guess the answer to that. Probably more dollars in his pocket.

That would cause me to wonder about the dealer and to look at other dealers if there were any nearby...

THis is just a guess, I could be wrong... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I think Bill (Henro) is probably right. The only reason I can think of that would make the dealer push the Woods over the Kubota loader is more profit. And like Bill, I suspect either loader is a good product and you'll probably be happy with it. But this topic has been discussed a great deal in the past, and personally I'd like the tractor and loader to be matched in brand. You may keep the tractor a lifetime, but if you ever want to sell it, I'd bet (even without real proof) that the resale value will be better if you have a Kubota loader on a Kubota tractor.

I'd have to be convinced the Woods is better, and better by a considerable amount. Lift height, lift capacity, break out, and a big one, my ease ability of removing/replacing the loader. I'd want to see if the Woods is any where near as easy to R/R the loader. The Kubota's is a snap. I am a little suprised the dealer would push a Woods over a Kubota unless there is still a shortage of the Kubota loaders (made in the US) resulting in purchases from a 3rd party like Woods. Make an inspection yourself of the quality of the Woods. My Woods brush mower is well made.

I have B7500 and Woods 1006 FEL and couldn't be happier.

My dealer recommened the Woods over the FEL, he sells both, but likes the Woods better. I know the 'Bota loaders are great too since there's a 'Bota load of them out there and if you go thru the thousands of posts here you'll not find much on bad FELs of any type.

If I had to do it all over again, I go with a dealers recommendation.

Not true, they both use the standard "Skid Steer" type quick attach.

Hi...

I have the Kubota LA723 loader and it has a "skid steer" type quick attach... it is NOT a proprietary design...

A big question in my mind WHY the dealer told you it is proprietary... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Greetings all,

I own the 3430 w/723 loader. I also believe that in the long run it is desirable and more attractive in resale to have the Kubota brand FEL over the aftermarket. I found there wasn't enough difference in performance or price to go with aftermarket.
I would agree that your dealer is trying for more profit margin in the Woods loader or could be he does not have the 723 on the lot to install right now and wants to sell you whats available? My dealer had to go out of his way to get the 723 I insisted on instead of selling me the 512 or Bush Hog he had in stock. My dealer tries to push Bush Hog loader sometimes depending on the setup. Don't get me wrong though, the Woods and BushHog are fine equipment to, I just like the all Kubota package. Take care.
