He has a budget of 25k. How much cost does a grapple add?

I took delivery of the first L3560 to pass through my dealer, in January 2013.

Kubota had not completely revised its web page and the folded ROPS height Kubota showed was <84".

The dealer and I were both surprised when tractor would not enter garage.

I have a high quality welding shop 12 miles from home. The welding shop sectioned 5" from the ROPS.

Kubota moved the fuel tank under the tractor on the /60 series, to provide side fueling. This change increased tractor height relative to /40 series.

Since I purchased my L3560 Kubota may have changed ROPS dimension, but I doubt it.

Jeff, you sure on the height? When researching I have notes that show the L3560 with ROPS folded was 85" tall which makes a pretty big difference. Maybe I was told wrong.

There is a considerable difference in height depending on tires. R1/ag tires will be tallest, turfs shortest. I have R4/industrial tires.

BACK ON TOPIC, PLEASE.

dodge man

Depends on the size, and brand
The 3rd function/diverter is going to be anywhere from $650 - $1000 installed.
He may only need a 48 inch - seen them as low as $900, or he may want a 66 inch - closer to $1600.

He can always buy that a few months down the road as well...
I was told get more tractor than you think you need, and I did not listen.
My first tractor for taking care of 5 acres was a Kubota BX series, and even thought it had 23HP - it was so light it would just spin the tires, sold after one season.
It was a great tractor - just not big enough - Now I have a 35HP and feel it might be a little too much, but I am keeping it...

are you guys sidetracked?

from what i read he is only interested in GREEN - so he is wanting to know about GREEN models not orange or blue or red ........

" We have a very local John Deere dealer down the road, so we are only looking at John Deere's offerings. "

I would get the biggest tractor i could get with the features you want for the 25K budget - i have been happy with my current Green 2038R had a couple issues but deere took care of them pronto - i had a 2210 before this and it was not a good experience for me BUT it was well used before i got it -

Yea - he said that - Maybe a mod can move this to a Green Forum then...

If I was set on one brand - I would ask question in that brand's forum

By the time a good used 35-40 hp tractor is found - there won't be any money left for implements. It doesn't take a genius to figure this out.

I have been put in charge of finding the right used compact tractor for our family's needs. Budget is around $25,000. Property is just under 10 acres with about 5 acres of field and 5 acres of woods. Some of the work the tractor will see include brush hogging, gravel driveway maintenance, tree moving, earth moving around the pond/home, land grading, possible snow removal and trench digging. Are you talking about trenching in something like an electrical cable, or digging a ditch?Basically, a little mixture of everything. The 3033R will d a nice job of everything but trenching.

We have a very local John Deere dealer down the road, so we are only looking at John Deere's offerings.

4WD ,FEL, and HST are required. We are thinking of a grapple for tree moving and a tooth bar for the bucket to start. A bolt on tooth bar like Piranha will do the trick. We can rent the other implements. No cab desired.

We are eyeing the John Deere 3033R model. We like the FEL control location - that is a nice feature. Is it Used? Price? Extra Remote Hydraulics? What Kind of Tires?

We are not tractor experts like you guys are on here, so we are looking for guidance. What do you suggest?

I think that you will have a lot of fun and get a lot of work done with a John Deere 3033R. Does the loader have Deere Quick Attach of SSQA. SSQA attachments are easier to find and less expensive. I would love to have a Rock Bucket Grapple, but can't justify the cost for what I do. I made a modification to my forks with some scrap angle iron, and they work well for brush.
