Help! going nuts with conflicting advice!!

Thanks guys,
I'm 63, and the attempt at farming is my retirement present to myself. I don't have a vacation home, etc.
I can honestly say the hours I spent on my new(used) tractor brushhoging my new 40 acres of goldenrod were some of the most relaxing and satisfying I can remember. May sound corney, and may get old, but right now I love it, confusion or not.

I maintain two large gardens with my BX 2200 and most of it's implements are only 50" wide. This gives me plenty of relaxing "seat" time to gather my thoughts and purge the stress of my day job (IT security).

If I had 20 to 40 acres of land to play with, I would try to make as much money as I could with it, but at the end of the day, it would mostly be for the fun of farming it!! Of course I say that until the rains, drought, hail storms and insects destroy my crops.....then it won't be relaxing and fun anymore!!

My only crop is poison ivy, but it's a healthy one. Looking fwd to ripping into it today! :laughing:

not corny at all.. i have some big diesels with canopies I could be mowing my farm with.. 15' 10' 6' etc.. but today I chose a 63 ford 2000 and 5' mower and chugged along for a few hours thru the thicket.

hot and sweaty.. but does drain the stress offa ya.
