Help! Grinding Noise?

Another thing...not familiar with your tractor, but if you have the ability to change the width of the rear tires, and the bolts that lock them in place are loose, it'll do exactly what you are talking about. My brother's 7510 did that until we figgered it out.

Charliebrn has described a common problem. Everyone who has adjustable wheel spacing feature that uses an axle clamp should watch these bolts carfully!!!!

The clamps on my B2400 get removed and cleaned about twice each year for just this reason.

My theory is that the bolt and nut used to clamp things together are soft (especially the nut). I know the two clamp halves are soft and in my case I reversed them because of the wear.

I plan to use a Gr8 the next time I take things apart.

Turn off tractor, block the front tires, put in neutral, jackup the rear and manually spin rear tires to see if you can hear grinding. if you do hear it may be easier to hear where its coming from. You may want to do this after trying the easy stuff 1st.
