All submersible pumps have a check valve right at the very top of the pump where the pipe attaches. With a 2 pipe deep (over 25ft) well jet pump the jet is sized according to the depth that the water will be lifted from. EX. If you have a drill well and the water is standing 40 ft down in the casing then you are only lifting that water 40 ft. So if you put you 2 pipe jet at 60ft then you need a jet for 60ft. No matter what deep that jet is there is always a foot valve on it. Fellows I am a pipefitter plumber by trade (retired now) and I have worked on and installed more pumps than I care to remember. Merry Christmas.
