Just advise him not to spill real "moonshine" on the paint. It may just start taking the paint off.:D

Tell your husband real men never clean their tractor, they let the rain wash their equipment.

Quick fix -- wash and wax his tractors and trucks for him. Then he won't be spending his time waxing them!

I find the easiest way is too stay on keeping them clean. Once they get super dirty they are a lot harder to get clean. I wash regularly. Amd for my vehicles I stay off dirt roads at all costs, especially during the winter or after a rain.

I rarely clean my twenty y/o ford. I do rinse it off and have washed it a few times to remove tons of mud.
As for my vehicles, we live on a dirt road and they are hardly ever as clean as
I would like.

Oh, yeah...his skidder, feller buncher, and other logging stuff never get cleaned! But he thinks his tractor is a ferrari, plus these days we need to keep a clean image with our tree business. I think he is a real man.... he always working, drinks beer, and never seems to pick up after himself inside the house

I used the same wax ,I use on my trucks and the wifes car. And I use a (med. ) clay bar . The wax and clay bar came from Detail King .com . This is what one of the local car dealers is using in there detail shop. Made my 88' toyota p/u look like new. And makes the Kubota shine as well. Twice a year, is what I prefer . Good luck , my wife said I spend too much time painting equipment also. I like things to look good going down the road , not look like i'm headed to the scrap yard. Steven.

i use "ICE" on my equipment. real easy. spray on and wipe dry and can go from metal to plastic with no white residue like some waxes. i don't do the axels or buckets and such, just the hood and top parts.

Having clean equipment is a good thing for a couple of different reasons (at least). One, if you have an oil, fuel, or coolant leak you usually notice it quicker and see where it's coming from sooner than if your machine looks like it has spent it's life in a mud bog. Two, being clean of straw, grass and other burnables reduces the chances of having the machine burned to a crisp! No fuel...no fire, eh? (Seen it happen!) Of course some things HAVE to be kept clean, like the radiator.

As far as waxing and polishing machinery, well, I have to admit, seeing an old tractor with a nice shiny paint job does my heart good but I'd never fault anyone who spent time doing it. I did hear of one farmer that used to make the wife and kids wax and polish his tractor and combine and use toothbrushes to make sure they got all the polish out of small crevices! That was going too far IMHO. Fine if he wanted to run the toothbrush himself, but to force the family to do it? I'd say that was over the line.
