Has anyone here run an Allmand? I have and they're backhoes are heavily restricted in their flows. You can't use the backhoe as a hammer or ram, it's just that slow, plus with any heavy pressure it goes to bypass. I ran a new allmand in the fall of 07 with only 40-50 hrs on it and couldn't stand how slow the backhoe was due to a factory designed stricture in hydraulic flow. I'd contact allmand to find out when this was added to their product. It's possible that it was removed at one time or the backhoe is an older unit and it's wear and tear. I could see leaking packing from overpressure or cutting a seal but never the whole thing blowing out.
I'd have someone call pretending they're looking for a rental and start asking what's covered in their liability. If the engine blows are you responsible? and go from there. Also be sure to use a cell phone that way it's easy to show that you called since you'll have a printed record on your cell phone bill.
