Is there no appeal? I would not pay anything if you are in the right. Appeal and fight till you get to either the top courts or till they run out of money hopefully it will be soon but I would not pay them one cent.

I have not posted on this, but I have read enough to know that you need to get a lawyer that works for YOU!

Reminds me of a friend that was going thru divorce, he called his lawyer who told him he was only doing damage control........he fired the lawyer but to late, one child cost him 180. week, and a new car payment for the mother for 5 years....one btw her lawyer told her to go so they could claim it as alimony due

I would be glad to kick something into the pot. You might be suprised as to how many TBN members would be willing to help. I can't see you loosing your home if there are people that would help -- no strings, you may need a few $$ to get you going again.

This is Leo's wife, Lisa, posting under his name. It seems "Tractorwidow" has forgotten her password....lol.

I would, like everyone else is urging you to do, highly recommend that you start calling the most high-powered, expensive attorneys you can find in your state. The initial calls are free and there is a strong chance that one of these attorneys will jump to the challenge and take on your case. In addition, there may be a possibility that they will take their fee from a winning verdict against your neighbor.
I am sorry for you because you will continue to lose time from work as well as money and sleep if you go back to battle with this man, but wouldn't it be worth it to try to keep you from losing everything you have worked for all these years!

PLEASE make those calls. O.J. Simpson would have lost if not for his lawyers, and it's obvious that your opponent had a similar attorney who fought much dirtier than yours. You should NOT have lost this case based on the facts you have portrayed in this forum. In fact, the guy should have been charged for scaring your children on several occasions!

mdbarb-

I feel for you. We are going through the same ----**** here. Only we are moving. Our neighbour has been in and out of court since he was 14...now 47. He has harassed the neighbourhood for years...threatening to kill my wife's horse, neighbours dog etc. Pushed down and kicked a crippled 76 year old man...got off with suspended sentence - no jail time. In fact with all the offences over the years he got a 6 month sentence - got out after one month on 'good' behavour - go figure. So the lawyer wins...we move on.

I could go on...

If you really are tied the land fight it...if other members want to contribute $$$ I will too.

I keep thinking there must be a reason for this...on another level. Like you, all we wanted to do was live in the country, raise a family, work hard and help out where we could.

regards,

lloyd

mdbarb,

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. In times like this it's good to see you have TBNr's on your side. If after appeal things still look as grim as they do now PLEASE give us a chance to help. Ten or so dollars from each of us would sure help defray the costs and possibly allow you to keep your land if you're so inclined.

Best wishes to you and yours and keep us posted....Barry W.

I feel terrible for you and your family. I hope there is some kind of appeal process there. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I've followed this thread for a while and it makes me more angry the longer I think about it! I hope some type of justice is served against them for the pain and suffering they have put you through!

I too will be willing to donate. Welcome to Liberal California. That is why I only go to visit the in-laws. I have no desire to live there. Will bankrupcy protect your home? I will be praying for you and your family.
