Rear Blade Help - I need to be able to back-drag but my JD 2020 blade won't allow it!

Cut a foot or so off one end and weld it to the other end giving you an offset that would hopefully clear the tractor tires when rotating. ? Perhaps you've already considered this and don't care to cut and weld.

Get a quick hitch or Pat's EZ thingy that's advertised here all the time. Just disconnect, spin the mount around, and reconnect from the other side.

You can rotate it 180 degrees when it is disconnected, right?

I've been gone all day and just now checking in here. I "assume" it will spin all the way around absent hitting the tires. My BIL was telling me that on his 4020 that there are extenders (similar to I assume was mentioned above in this thread) on his lower arms that allow for some extra movement.

My deal is that when I'm blading that, it's fairly common to grade some, then back-drag, then have to grade some more etc, so it'd be a royal pain to unhook the 3-point.

I like the quick detach idea though!

If I can figure out how to post a picture I will do that maybe tomorrow.

Really appreciate al the comments so far!

Thanks a bunch.

Got a photo?

The simplest modification might be to make the main frame longer so it will pivot.

Either that or get smaller tires. :D

I have a 7 footer that would hit my tires on a Kubota L3650 when I tried to spin it around.
When I placed a HF quick hitch on the tractor it gave me enough clearance to spin the blade.

Here's what I've got.

The one picture is just to show the welded on part from behind.

Then one shows how it hooks up along with the lever used to adjust angle. (I was sort of liking the idea of just extending the frame some, but that adjustment lever looks like a show-stopper for that idea, but maybe not?)

The other one is just a closeup of how it hits the tire. As you can see, not a lot - maybe a couple inches? I mean I could take that off I suppose, but if the Quick Hitch would remedy that I'm all in!! IMG_0100.JPGIMG_0096.JPGIMG_0097.JPG

Yeah, you'd have to extend that hitch out quite far. It will also hit your drawbar/PTO area too.

The only option I see, is to disconnect it and turn it around. Though I dont use them, I would recommend something like the quick hitch if you're going to be doing this a lot.

Nice blade though! Kinda jealous!
