Help in deciding on new Zero Turn Mower

I have a scag tiger cub w/ 52 inch deck and cut about 3 acres with. Good machine, grass build up under deck could be better. If I bought another I'd probably go iwth a dixie chopper. Friend just bought one and loves sit, no buildup issues. I suggest you look at whatever commercial guys use in your area. I don't see a lot of john deere by me. Mainly ferris, exmark and dixie chopper. For the little more a commercial mower will cost it's worth it and the way you'll use it it will last a lifetime. (I put on about 40 hours a season)

Thanks for all the input. I would love a Scag Tiger or something like it but even used they are out of my price range. In looking at used commercial units, I'm having a hard time justifying a used unit with more hours on it than I would generally put on in 5 or 6 years, or more. I tested the Hustler Fasttrac and was impressed but I was concerned about the depth of the deck. I will also use the mower to pull a leaf vacuum and I would like a "high capacity" deck, something over 5 inches high and the Hustler is something around 4 inches. Has anyone had any experience with the Everride Hornet?

Steve what are your thoughts on the 2660 Swisher a year later?

I saw where Northern Tool had cleared out making room for the new 2760 model and had a price of $2999 on the 2660 model and the some local farm stores may be dumping old models of different makes over the next three months. My son is pushing for some kind of Zero Turn so we are open to buying one for 50% off. :D

I don't know what catagory this fits in. It big, heavy and a bit unrefined. It doesn't have any stylish plastic covers or decorations. If you read the review in the attached link you will see that Consumers guide rated as a best buy.

I have no affiliation with Swisher or any of their dealers and I have little experience with consumer zero turn mowers. I do have a professional 36" walk behind Zero turn mower that weighs 500# and the construction details of the swisher look very similar. I am very pleased with mine.:D:D

Our local tractor supply has one on clearance for $3500. I bought one last year (used for $1500, had 8 hours on it) and I like it a lot.:p

Since you require dealer service you might want to look around to see if any of your local dealers handle them.

It has a 60" deck, 26 HP and weighs 910 lbs
