I guess I would like to go off topic here and ask what's it like to farm in Hawaii? Is farmland available? I have thought about it, and the thought of being able to do things year round appeals to me, plus I used to sail.

So, how does a 755 compare to a 2520 in its ability to tow a 1000lb MowAround?

Shouldn't be any trouble towing it...lifting for transport might be a different story.
However, I don't think the unit shown in the first post weighed anywhere near 1000 lbs. That would require a counterweight, I would think with either the 755 or 2xxx series machines.

The vendor for the mowaround has identified the JD in the original post as a 955.

Marco246, I'll be working with Wayne. I need the 2000 Twenty series for good CG, and will opt for the power of the 2520. I suppose that's two steps up.

Superdutydave, I'm still waiting for a price quote and exact weight of the mowaround unit. I too am wondering about the reliability and durability of the unit. I plan to ask the vendor (buterent.com) for some references.

Kude, Land cost is nearly prohibitive for farming. I think most small coffee farmers do it either because the land has been in the family for years, or because they really like the romantic notion of farming wonderful coffee in tropical environment. We have a sailing racing season in fall and spring. Light winds, but really fun.
