Well my L3010 is about ½ mile back in the woods, no roads or trails and the rear tire is flat. I think a piece of stump got caught inside the lower lift arm and wedged the tire off the rim from the inside, (I hope). I have to hire another tractor to get back there and bucket the tire out for me if I can’t reinflate it onsite. My question is does anybody know with ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY what size the lug nuts are and what the best hand wrench is to remove the tire. It would save me the effort of lugging a whole mess of tools back in the woods! Tires are R4 industrials.

Thanks a billion in advance.
Glen

Glen - I'm assuming your L3010 is 4wd. If you can get in there with another tractor, it might work to hook up a tow chain and just tow/drive yours out slowly on the flat (maybe lock the differential so that side doesn't spin. Rocks in your front bucket would add front traction and take some of the load off the back tires. Also, unhook any rear-mounted implement and go get it later.

That way you only pay for one trip in and out. Changing a wheel in the woods can be a bear. Good luck!

I wasn't that far back but I blew out my valve stem from my rear tire. What a pain. I just called the dealer and told him to come and get it. He did this for no charge and didn't charge to fix the tire. I thought I had a great dealer until 50 hour service he didn't change my trans filter.

Yuck!

What was your tire filled with?

I think it was washer fluid. It had a blue tint to it. How do you post the pic with the post and not an attachment?

I have a B2400 with R4 tires too. But my rims have a valve stem guard. It is a short section of pipe that is welded to the rim. It surrounds the stem for its entire length (about 1-1/4 inches). It is a real pain to measure the pressure or to add air though. You might ask your dealer to weld something onto your rims to help avoid this problem in the future.

Re: HELP L3010 STRANDED!

Peter, many of us have stem protectors on our tires, particularly the fronts. I don't understand why you are having a pain trying to fill or check the pressure. The protector is as you said, about a 1 to 1.25" pipe. Surely you can get a pressure gauge or inflation tool in that much space with no difficulty, if not, perhaps your just using the wrong tool. I have no problems.

Re: HELP L3010 STRANDED!

L3010 4wd
Front wheel bolts 22mm
Rear wheel bolts 24mm

Problem was a broken valve stem. Negative on valve protectors for L3010 on the rear tires. Only the fronts have protectors. Rears are on the inside of rims.

Took wheel off in the woods. Hired someone with a tiny JD to bucket the tire out and back in after fixed. He couldn’t believe how far back in the woods I was. It was comical to see the big orange tire in the little green tractor. All is well now.

BTW - Tire dealer had hard time reseating bead again.

Thanks all for the concern!
Glen

Steve,

You use the [ image ] command (see FAQ). Apparently, Harv didn't like that I imaged your attachment.

Harv,

Did I violate some rule? Should I not use the image function? Or is just imaging someone else's attachment a no no?

Re: HELP L3010 STRANDED!

Glen -- It's very easy to add a valve protector to your rear rims. In my case, I used a short length of angle iron welded right to the rim. Works like a charm.
