Newly retired, bought second home, 42 acres at 8400'. Land is 1/2 flat, 1/2 hilly, fenced with a mix of buck&rail and smooth wire
Must maintain 3/4 mile dirt road. Not running live stock, not farming (possible small group of fruit trees). Will be doing hardscape/landscape. Need to rough mow sides of road and around house to keep snow accumulation down. Will be planting several dozen trees for both for aesthetics and wind break. Have to put up a bunch of deer fence for obvious reasons.
So, on to tractor decision...either will probably do the job.
At time of purchase will be getting a cab, FEL, pallet forks, dual rear remotes, front remote, mid PTO, Bob-Tach, block heater, slow moving vehicle sign, GP tires, bolt-on cutting edge for bucket.
At a later date will add either rotary blade or flail mower, possibly a snow blower and other toys.
I'm leaning toward the CT445. One reason being it's a bit wider and longer therefore a somewhat more stable platform. The increased Hp compared to the CT335 should offset the increased weight. There's about a 10% difference in cost between the 335 vs 445, this isn't an issue. It seems to me the 445 represents a better long term investment and avoids the situation of buyers remorse from buying too small a tractor.
What say you all?
Thanks
Tom
