Help needed w/skidsteer attachment hoses

( Just got a tracked loader and snowblade and can't get one hose connected. Followed the simple instructions in the manual to relieve residual pressure in the machine lines. The female hose on the machine connects but the male is too hard to push on. It seems that when I first started, it was going on part way but toward the end, it hardly budged. Both connector sides are new. I think these were called flat faced connectors. Do you need to pull back on the knurled collar to assemble it? Any other thoughts?

Had to do the same thing on my alitec auger, had to call service to come out and fix it even when 3 guys tried to fix the problem. He finally disconnected the hoses to the auger itself and then we were able to attach it to the skid steer

When disconnecting the equipment you should always shut the tractor or power unit off. Then move the control lever in all functions several times. Then disconnect the hoses, you still may wind up with this problem but not normally
