Help Needed with trailer options

Thanks Chris for your guidance.

BTW, weight of the finished trailer was estimated to be 2300 lbs.

An identical configuration quoted by Jerry James was quoted $130 higher without the diamond plate steps, additional tie-downs, teardrop fenders or optional paint color with hardener...and their trailer was estimated to be 1900 lbs....400 lbs lighter....which left me wondering where the structure was being made lighter.

I was very impressed with the people at Retco and their willingness to help in every way they could. Good people.

I have never dealt with Retco but from the sounds of it they may be my choice also for the next trailer.

I think the reason Chris suggested the removable finder on the drivers side was more for being able to open a vehicle door than for side loading. Which I agree is a very handy option.

I would loose the steak pockets and have them weld d-rings in strategic places. Steak pockets aren't good for anything but holding 2x4s for sides.

I intend to have removable oak sides on three sides of the trailer so the pockets are necessary.

The trailer was finished and picked up last week. It turned out great.

Only change I would have added would be a channel cross brace on the tongue to provide bottom support for a tool box. Otherwise it's perfect.

Thanks to all who helped make it happen with your good suggestions.

I'll try to post pictures after I get out of the hospital.
