Help, no Hydraulics at all

Hi Everone
Sorry I posted a new topic, I still new and instead of staying here I ended posting a new topic....
Well I have tried everything, cleaned and removed all Q.C. hoses to the front loader then bypassed the hoe by connecting both hoses together at the back. The tractor is able to drive however all hydraulics are dead...
I also took the filter underneath off and very little hydraulic fluid came out just sort of dripped. Have any of you removed the filter before draining the hydraulics, if so did the oil come gushing out or not. I tried to look at the little glass window but can't really tell looks full.....then I tried to remove the small plastic screw that you take out to fill up hyraulic fluid, and cannot even get that out...what a mechanic I am... It is rounded off, cannot believe this because I bought the tractor new and it has only been to the dealers once, so they must have rounded the thing off, what a spot to put that cap...
Any suggestions would be really appreciated, I will try again tomorrow to remove that cap, otherwise I will bring to the dealers next week.

You cant tell if the tank is full or not by looking at the sight glass. Cant use a dip stick to test the oil level in the tank.
You say not much oil dripped from the filter. I think that the oil tank is empty, get that plug screw out and check the oil level with a dip stick. No need to tighten that tank screw that tight.

Thanks transit, for some reason I have the same feeling, but where would the oil have gone. I have not added oil, but does it just leak out somewhere slowly or what.....like around the cylinders
I will attempt to remove the plug again tomorrow, what a crazy spot to put it.
I can see if you do not have a back-hoe but if you do............just nut's.

If you had a leak you would see it. If the tractor will move then it has to have hyd. fluid since every thing runs off 1 pump. I do not have a hyd circuit diagram to see how the steering is routed. But the time I had a problem with a quick connect the power steering was not affected. When they fixed the filter they may have allowed shaving to get into the system and have now caused a blockage some where. Make sure all the connections are hooked up to the correct places.

Mine is a later model ('07), and does have the filter guard. As folks have suggested, you should get the retro-fit, when you get the tractor back on line.
I've seen some 2300 tractors where the plastic fill cap fits well and unscrews by hand, but mine sure isn't one of those!
I have to use a pair of Channel Locks on it every time; either the threads were poorly formed or have been damaged, I suspect, in either the tube or the cap.
I don't worry too much about it, as long as it stays put-- but go ahead and use a tool to get it off. When wandering around dealer lots, I got in the habit of just trying those caps; seems like only one in four or five was actually removable by hand. I know it's a bear to get at with the BH on!

Checked still no hydraulic power.
Drained all hydraulic oil and cleaned screen in behind rear wheel, notice that there was some really small pces missing from it. Anyways took it out and left it out just to check what would happen....still no hydra power.
Changed large oil filter on hydraulic pump....still no power. BTW also when doing all this changed out hydraulic fluid with fresh one.
Since doing all of this now the tractor will not even move back or forward.
Before I could not operate the hydraulics now cannot even move the tractor.
Also forgot to mention that I disconnected the rear backhoe and reconnected the hoses like they are suppose to be when not connected to backhoe, they are connected together.
Any ideas guys.......

This is sounding serious... but give it some time:
After changing my hydraulic fluid, it seemed to take forever for the thing to come back up to pressure; I figured for sure I'd broken something!
But after ten minutes or so of running, stuff finally started to work normally.
Have you given it several minutes of idling and still get no movement?
