Help on sending private message

Greetings,

I am trying to respond to an inquiry via private message. I go to my home and hit send private message. I type in the user name and the message and send. But my home shows no private messages sent. Does the recipient have to log on to get it and thus it doesn't show up until he does? Or am I doing something wrong?

Rod, you have to check the box </font><font color="blue" class="small">( I want to keep a copy of my message )</font> to see that you've sent it. You can also check the box </font><font color="blue" class="small">( I want to receive a read receipt )</font> if you want an acknowlegement back.

Both of these boxes are towards the bottom of the send PM screen, along with the preview box /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

hmmmm, I do it a bit different.

To respond to a message I received I hit the reply on the message sent.

To send a new message I click on their name on a post they made, this takes me to their home page. I then click send message at the bottom of their home page and the PM screen appears and automatically inserts their name.

I also check the boxes at the bottom. You will get a message after he/she opens the message.

I don't know how many different ways you can send messages but this way works for sure.
