Help please! CK2510 or CK30?

Yanmar makes a nice tractor I have had two of them. There diesels are some of the best made. I would say the ex3200 is almost exactly in between the ck25 & ck30 as far as size. As far as HP the Yanmar has the most and normally they are a little quiter than the daedongs. The only negative to me of the Yanmars is they have week loaders compared to others. If that's not a problem for you I would go for the Yanmar. Personally a max of 911pounds at pins just won't cut it for me. Otherwise I probably would have went with Yanmar. I have said in the past a kioti tractor with a Yanmar Diesel engine would be a great machine but that's just me.

Are the Yanmar loaders made in USA? Is there any other, stronger after-market loader option? Has anyone done real-world testing of both the Kioti and Yanmar loaders to see how much is on paper and how much is a seriously poor loader capacity? Even if a stronger after-market loader could be found for the Yanmar, will the front end stand up to the extra loads?

Kiwi,
I have been watching that one on TH. I contacted them. Apparently they mostly sell lawn and garden type stuff. They are about 60 mi. away but would deliver for free. But since I have a close dealer wanted to try to buy from him. His deal is tractor, loader, loaded rear tires, 2 bucket hooks and rear aux hydraulics run to the front for a future grapple for 20,400 which includes 6% PA sales tax.

400 isn't any difference over 20K, they're basically the same price. The ergonomics on the EX are better, but the specs on the CK are way better, the CK weighs 3200lbs, 12.8 gpm hydraulic pump capacity, and 1750lbs of 3PTH lift, IIRC. The EX weighs 2500lbs, has 9.9 gpm hydraulic flow, and 1100lbs of 3PTH lift. I couldn't find the EXs loader lift, but I'd bet with the lower hydraulic capacity it's less than the CK's 1100lbs. I'd have to agree with your dealer, except for HP, the EX is more comparable to the CK2510.

I have a CK30hst and owned it for 10 years now. The 2510 your looking at is similar to the older CK20hst. Yes it is a little hard working tractor for it's size but not equal to the CK30hst. As mentioned, the 30 has more weight to hold the tires down for traction, 5.5hp more, 3 speed ranges, bigger tires, more hydro flow, and a bunch of others that were mentioned. Members had said the older CK20hst with only 2 speed ranges was ok but the low was to low and the high was just for highway travelling and wished there was a middle range. I do very similar work to what you mentioned and wouldn't want less of a tractor.

From the description of your property and jobs, I'll tell from personal experience you will kick yourself if you don't get a CK30 or 35. It's going to boil down to power, weight, lift.
With hilly property and a drive up hill you want to have the flexibility of the 3spd and 5 more HP and 900 lbs weight for traction.
I've had a CK20 for 11 yrs with 1500 very hard hours doing almost all dirt and snow work. I picked it originally because it was the perfect size for the type of dirt work (backhoe and landscape) in suburban yards and tight driveways. In 2014 I bought aCK2510 factory cab and front blower. What a workout I got this winter with it, and boy was that cab SWEET.
The ONLY reason I didn't buy a CK30/35 was my backhoe will fit on both tractors (the 2510 has exactly the same frame as the 20) and the tight areas I work in often. There have been quite a few times I would have liked more lift capacity or a midrange speed, but it just took more trips or more bites out of the pile.
The greatly increased HP and hydraulic capacity on the 2510 is very noticeable when you can operate it next to the CK20, probably puts it very close to a CK27 or 30.

Well again my recommendation from experience and your work/ property description is GO WITH THE CK30, it'll be well worth the extra money.

I went with a smaller tractor a Max28 as I wanted small and have larger equipment. Your tasks need weight. The thing the old design CK30 has going for it is weight. The Max 28 has 1600lbs at 24" on the 3 PT, very impressive for a tiny tractor amd is rated 1,400lbs at the bucket pins, so it specs real close to a CK30, but it is a light tractor, even ballasted to 3,200 lbs.

Me I'd get the DS3510, same size as CK, 5 more HP, near 700 Lbs more loader capacity & 500 Lbs more on the 3 PT.
