HELP please on IPHONE will not charge/turn on

Its now dark outside. I turned off the lights in the house, I took my streamlight pen and found GREEN corrosion!!!?? how on earth did that happen in 30 days of easy use? Well I cleaned it out with a piece of plastic and plugged it in. I have several hours of experience and training on trailer and truck electrical. I know a lot about corrosion but it takes time to work and start. It will spread entirely through a wire like cancer but that takes time. Im more than shocked mine corroded out in less than a month? How? It takes salt or sea water to accelerate corrosion. these charging ports must be made of inferior materals to break down so fast!!

as for the moisture it may have happened from snow or washing my hands and touching my phone. Jeeze
Hey, I don't want to comment on your salt and sweat issues..... Just kiddin! Another thing you can do is put it on a baggy of dry rice for a couple days. If there's any moisture in the phone that should draw it out. How to Dry Out a Cell Phone - Fix a Wet Cell Phone - Popular Mechanics

Take a air gun and blow out the charge port sometimes its that simple to fix it.
If your battery has gone bad there pretty cheap and easy to replace.
So by knowing that your receptacles are back stabbed you already looked in there , don't mention that to the landlord.

Hmm, that is weird. I'm on my 5th iPhone since 2008, and still have all the old ones (app developer, so I used them all for testing). None have had issues, and I admittedly use them hard and sweat a lot when working or during sports -- I had both a 4S and 5 in my pockets while we were building our house and pier in 2012-2013 (tidal river, so mildly salty) and no issues despite being exposed to moisture, dirt, and sawdust. I have been surprised how tough the phones are and that they keep on ticking after I clean them up. I sometimes use a case, but most of the time do not. When biking, boating, or skiing, I put the phones in a ziplock bag and then in my pocket for extra insurance. Saved my iPhone 5 when out in my boat back in December and I mistakenly sat in a puddle on the seat.

I think that moisture sensor is the telltale -- is it possible the phone got wet without you knowing? Is it in a case that could have trapped moisture? Somehow it got wet.
