I will. Thx. It痴 greased beyond belief. And I used pens testing oil in the bearings and couple to make sure they can move. It may be the coupler bearings. I can稚 see it being anything else

If need be can I buy a new coupler that attaches to this shaft or do I have to buy a new shaft?

But even if I知 pushing it too far I release the collar and it does not click it stay on. ...

... Maybe the bearings are not releasing?

It is possible to push it too far. If you push it on to the max, the "click spot" should be a couple inches back.
If the balls don't click when they're over the indentation of the shaft, I'd say the collar isn't releasing. Seems lube would be the answer, but you say its really lubed? hmm... Are there burrs on the PTO shaft that need filing?

No burs it’s pretty much a new tractor. I think it’s the balls but I’m going to try again this morning. Does anyone know if I can replace just the couple or do I have to buy the whole drive shaft? The PTO shaft is pretty universal are they not?

Thx

The collar and balls may be greased, but maybe it needs to be cleaned first and then re-greased so that it releases. Grease can attract all sorts of grit. Does it "release" when working the collar, testing it, off the shaft?
I did some quick searches for PTO end yokes, quick release collar, etc.. I'm not finding them, other than Chinese websites (alibaba, et...) Somebody has to sell them right?

Yes me too that why I was asking. I just see the whole shaft. I’m going to play with it again this morning but if I can’t get it wirk I was going to go an hour away to the tractor place but if I can just buy the coupler there is no need? This thing did sit outside all winter so it may be the balls are stuck ! I cleaned it originally and used wd40 to try and get the balls to move or just lube it but I will take another **** today. I worked at it yesterday until I was dead tired.

Ok so I?m out trying it again and nothing. So I thought I would check and see if it would seat to the overrun clutch that it was attached to when on my older Yanmar. And it does?

So I tried to attach the overrun clutch to mtv359yt PTO shaft and no luck ?

I thought these were the same size? Could I need a different shaft?

I thought the drive shafts for the post hole digger that I used on my small Yamar older 2210 would work? Could they be just different enough that it won?t work?
