Is this a 4wd? 2WD?. With most wheel systems you basically just start taking stuff off from the outside and work in. Lay the parts on the ground in order (or download a parts manual). 4WD will be a little harder because of the steering knuckle and parts around it.

Good Luck,

Many bearing shops can order a seal if they can read the numbers off the old one or if you give them the ID and OD for the seal you need.

A seal puller works much better than a screwdriver to remove seals- I bought one recently and wondered how I had gotten by so amny years without one (they are less than $15 at an auto parts store).

When you get in to the seal, try to remove it without damaging the sealing lip.
Then you can check whether it was worn or damaged, check also for wear from the lip on the shaft, if the shaft is worn see whether you can get the seal in or out a bit next time or fit a speedie sleeve.
Check also for slack in the bearing or bush before reassembling.
