Help! Sucked up 100' hose in tiller

Go to Harbor Freight and get one of their $15 vibrating tools and an assortment of blades. The cheap wood cutting blades will barely scratch the paint off before dulling and will go thru the hose with ease.

I caught a 60' x 60' piece of very thick clear plastic in a bush hog one time. The crew renting one of our tobacco barns left it wadded up in tall grass. Took me six hours cutting and pulling to get it out.

Everybody that mows any at all has a story like that. Just be careful while working on your tiller.

Just last week I cut several feet of 1/2 rope from the MMM that I was using to clear a path in an abandoned field. But it was a nice day and I had a sharp knife. Then the Mailman got several feet of barbed wire wrapped around the drive shaft of his truck. Now that took awhile for me to get under there and cut it off with a side cutter, since he didn't have any tools.
Cheers,
Mike

I would gather all the pieces of hose and deposit into a bucket and when finished return them to the hardware store to see if they will warrant the hose............especially if it was purchased at Costco........ I think they have a no questions asked return policy. LOL Ah the fun of rotating equipment and field " treasures........" Barbed wire, tires, smooth wire, rope, plastic Shrink wrap....... I always have a pair of fencing pliers in the tractor makes the wire removal a little easier they have a bit of a hook built into them enabling you to pry the wire back then cutting it off. Although getting things wrapped up give you a good inspection opportunity to take a close look at your equipment and perhaps find other things that may lead to problems down the line like small bits of wire etc wrapped tightly around shaft at bearing that may lead to premature seal failure

Cheers

Spent some unhappy time clearing yards of bittersweet vine from the side of the spool, where it go wedged in right next to the oil seal.
Wound real tight, that stuff's unbelievably hard to cut out.

Was bush hogging a neighbors field, saw what I thought was a snake moving in the grass beside me... No it was 50 feet of barbed wire winding around the shaft of the bush hog. Took a couple of hours to get a wired cutter and cut the stuff off.

Aircraft metal cutters work very nice at clipping just about everything.

If you have a Fein multi-master, or a similar tool as mentioned above, that makes short work of this sort of problem and doesn't damage anything. This is a great excuse to get a Fein, that is about the handiest tool ever made. In the case of wire, we carefully use a torch in all areas except up against any seals. Wire cuts so fast you need very little heat. Cut a little, yank on it with pliers, cut a little more and you are done.

You make it sound almost fun! Ha ha... and I agree on the Fein multi master. One of my favorite tools.

For me, this would be an excellent reason to buy an oscillating multi-tool. I don't think I would go with the top of the line Fein because they are just ridiculously over priced.

Or I'd hoist it up about chest high and start unraveling.
