In fact (and this hurts to say) I stationed my wife out front for a while to let me know if I got any material in the bucket. I just could not tell what I was doing way out there.:eek: But I learned, and you will too. Good Luck with your new machine.

Thanks for the encouragment and the courage to commiserate. I realize it's a skill that you have to learn. If she'd have been there I'd have asked her to do the same. I know about the rod that tells where the bucket is but it is only visible when bucket is nearly level. Tomorrow I'll get at it again and maybe get some of it figured out.

Believe it or not after a while, you can kinda tell by way the tractor is acting, what angle the bucket is at.. Like if you are scraping to level the ground, if you cannot see the edge, you can "feel" the edge. Hard to describe, but you will know when the tractor starts to bog down, you can raise the edge a little and keep on pushing and scraping. Best way I can describe it. Good Luck and keep at it.

I played with a pile of gravel for a while too, just to get a feel for how to heap up the bucket. I find too that its much more precise to adjust the bucket edge using the curl function when you are scraping or leveling.
I am spreading top soil over a large area and it has quite a few rocks in it and I find I'll just stop every once in a while with the bucket in the middle of a few rocks, jump off and pick up all them within 20-30' and go to the rock pile. Without a rock fork, I've got to do it by hand.

Yes I have inklings of that from yesterday. It's as you say keeping at it. There is so much to do that won't be a problem. Thanks James. I didn't get to play today but I did get out and lube the hand throttle linkage. My cats think kioti is an alien from another galaxy.
