For the manual go to the manufacturers website and download the PDF. Downloads l Wet Sounds Product Manuals

If needing to splice wire in then always solder and heatshrink, this is an outside toy. The connection will fail from the weather if not soldered. Youtube can teach you to solder.

For the wire you can buy tubing big enough for it to fit in and zip tie those to the ROPS. You could also use something like this- Amazon.com: Wire Loom Black 2' Feet 3/8" Split Tubing Hose Cover Auto Home Marine: Home Improvement

If you want to keep your hearing for many years then get a good set of headphones that block out the rest of the noise. You will need to turn up these speakers pretty loud to hear them over a working tractor. Good luck.

Head phones and ear buds hurt my ears, aggravate my Tmj and give me wicked headaches when worn too long. The tractor itself is surprisingly quiet, so I don’t think it will be an issue for dragging and box blading my arenas as well as putting out round bales which will be the majority of its use. Mowing might be a different story but we’ll see. This stereo is pretty darn loud.

I recommend U bolts and a pice of angle iron. Then you can use the mounts that came with the sound bar to mount it.

I like your idea also as I like to be able to hear my machine running and listen for any changes in the engine or PTO driven attachment.

I would hope for your sake that it isn't very loud. I'm using for mowing a walk behind tractor with a cutter bar mower, so I'm both closer to the mower and engine and its just loader anyway.

What is Tmj?

Echoing what others have said somewhere on the back of that tractor is a wire for rear facing work lights. If you are not going to use it for that purpose it would be ideal for what you want. It will be set up so that it is only hot (on) when the key is turned on. So once you turn the tractor off the speaker will not be drawing power and killing your battery. You might have to do a bit of work to get the "end" of that wire to match the "end" of the wire for the speaker. (i.e. the speaker may have a cigarette lighter type plug on it and the wires on the tractor will have some other kind of plug on it).

As one older geezer who grew operating tractors and mowers for long hours at a stretch, I found that you do tune out the background noise, but at a long term cost to your hearing. The kubotas are quiet at low motor speeds, but when operating PTO equipment they are loud enough to damage your hearing like any other tractor. Unless you have a cab, you really do need some sort of hearing protection. And I do understand the TMJ pain that you experience from wearing headphones and ear buds. There is not an easy answer. But I can tell you that if you want to enjoy AC DC when you are in your 60s and later you need to take care of your hearing today. I apologize for being preachy, but you really do not want to experience the sadness that hearing loss brings. W Jones

If it was me that wanted to do this install. The very first thing I would want to know is how much current does this device pull when in full operation and also when it is "turned off". This would help me determine if I could splice it into the rear work light circuit that many of you have mentioned or if I would run it direct to battery and/or thru a relay. I am not sure how much current this unit will draw, so I hesitate to recommend the rear lighting circuit as a suitable hookup point.

If for instance this unit draws say 15 amps in full operation (turned all the way up) then this rear lamp circuit (usually fused at 10 amps max) is not going to be suitable. With a direct to battery connection, if the unit draws any current in the "off" state then you will need to include a relay in series with this connection whose coil is activated by being attached to the key buss so that when the key switch of the tractor is off the relay coil is relaxed and the connection to the battery is broken. Of course a suitable sized fuse in any battery connection as close as you can get it to the actual positive battery terminal is a must.

There are many things to always consider in doing any kind of vehicular installation for it to be done properly, and many of you have touched on them. But all of my calculations would begin by finding out how much current the unit draws in both states, full on and full off. I stand by to assist.

By the way, I can readily think of a farmer or two, who have spend decades listening to a tractor, especially as mentioned in plowing and PTO operations, who are now deaf as a post, and they blame all of those hours of "seat time" without using hearing protection. Most of my hearing loss I attribute to gunfire as a young person.

if you not sure what to do, take it to a auto repair shop, tractor dealer, radio shop, any one tha know 12v systems. someone might even come out. if you hook into the wrong wire you could cause problems to your tractor or have a short circuit and burn your tractor down. im sure if you took enough pictures you could find someone that knows what they are doing relatively cheap. ip you can afford a $20,000+ tractor, you can afford a $100+ speaker install.

not being an a**, but some things need to be done by professionals. only took me 30 years to learn that!
