HELP w/Used Tractor Choice

   / HELP w/Used Tractor Choice #11
PJNH,
I have owned my BX1500 for about a 8 months. I live on 2 acres, of which I mow almost all of. I also have the LA181 loader. I love this machine. It fits my needs perfectly. I have a 5ft rear blade and a 48" box scraper.

This little 15hp diesel has plently of power for my work. I have used it to clear snow, haul firewood, move around a 5' x 10' trailer, grade dirt, move topsoil and mulch, etc.

The loader is a definite plus as is the power steering. I am spoiled now that I have both. You are getting a pretty good deal at the price you were quoted. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

I just got a BX1500 for about 10 acres and have put 10 hrs on it in the last two weeks(189 hrs total). I love it and it has done everything I have asked it to do. Cleared about 1/4 acre of staghorn sumac and briars, moved some large rocks, mowed a bit of lawn, moved a LOT of rubble and filled in some driveway potholes.

I'm sure you'll be pleased with either one, but the BX 1500 is a dream to drive and use (if the price is OK).

Take care and enjoy,

Mark

Thank you for all the replies gentlemen. The B7100 was in the process of being sold when I made the phone call to see it. That made the decision fairly easy and with all the positive comments on the BX, how could I go wrong. I purchased the BX1500 which by the way is an '05 and has 109 hours on the clock and not 190. In addition, I also purchased a Woods 5' rear blade that was for sale separately. I also ordered a Bro Tek skid plate as I will venture into the woods a little and a grill guard based on some of the information I have read in the forums. I know it is not really designed or have the necessary clearance for the woods but I will not be doing any major work that would be inappropriate. The skid plate will be a safety net just in case and Richard has had a lot of great reviews. I was busy today and look forward to using the machine.

Madreference: I sent you a p.m. I wish I could have considered your package but the $$$$ are tight and probably a bit too large for my needs.

Thanks again for all your help.

PJNH

Wayne:

Is the 3pt A frame hitch built well? How much and where to buy? Has anyone seen the flexpoint company A frame 3Pt hitches? A little pricey.

You got the right tractor for your needs. The B series tractor is a great one also... but more geared towards other work. 109 hours is nothing... still like brand new. Welcome to the forums and as always.... we'd love to see pics!

Happy for you. Sounds like a great deal. You won't be disappointed.

109 hours...I'm just passing that now. Giving the beast a spongebath this weekend and when it goes in for service (in conjunction with the installation of a Woods Backhoe), it will be good as new. Better than new. She purred like a kitten after the 50 hour service better than when new, so I'm hoping for the same or better this time.

For what I am doing with it I have no complaints! I bought it from Redlandhill located in Elberbe, NC. It is maybe a medium duty hitch setup. The lower section is made using angle iron and comes with a 17/8" and 2" ball plus a clevis. My main use is to move my boat around in the yard and that was much easier than using the truck. Then winter showed is smiling face and I put on the snowblower. So I have not used it for anything else. Plan on using it to haul my small trailer to bring cut and split wood out.

I think I paid around 109.00 plus shipping, but not sure of that?

CUSTOM 3 POINT HITCH PARTS, ACCESSORIES AND FABRICATION

They also sell via Ebay so you can look at their stuff there.

I noticed RedLandHill is selling hydraulic top links too. It looks like the Bare-Co one. BTW, Agri-Supply sells the same one for $30 less.
