Help with 400x Leakdown

   / Help with 400x Leakdown #11
I complained to my JD dealer and was told that Deere accepts up to a 7" drop per hour leak rate through the cylinders.

7"s per hr seems like a lot. I think JD is using that to escape some warranty issues. There's really no excuse for a good spool valve & cylinders to leak that much especially with no load in the bucket.

From the chart I saw on maximum acceptable leakdown rates, the largest numbers for the 400x on a 4000 series tractor were 2.4 inches per hour on the boom & 5.10 inches per hour on the bucket (curl I assume...).

FWIW

That is ridiculous. Especially when it is running. Sitting dormant is one thing.
