bgott, I have my manual crank adjust for the 3PH on the left with the TnT (tilt cylinder) on the right. I too favor getting the left arm hitched up first as the hydraulic tilt then helps get the correct height on the right side. It isn't real easy but I have long arms and can reach in the back window to work the TnT but, of course, I can't have a hand on the hydraulic control and on the lower arm. If there were duplicate controls at the rear of the cab (accessible from outside the cab) for the hydraulics, or a wireless remote, or a brainwave coupled interface then a helper (which I have had three times in over 200 hrs) would be redundant and hitching the brush hog would be much much easier. For me it seems to be a problem of trying to be in two places at once. Sometimes I do NOT set the brakes and instead of using light HST pedal pressure to jocky the tractor forward and back, I just lean into the rear tire tread and move it by hand. Works good on real real level ground that isn't too soft, otherwise it is too darned hard to move or it rolls back to its original position as soon as I quit straining on the tire.

I'll be adding removable castors (landing gear, AKA enpenage) to the front corners, ala the U-2, which should make things a lot easier.

Patrick,

I have heard several poeple mention link pins that are slanted towards the rear? I have never used an implement that the pins have not been straight. Do you have some pics of these pins? I would like to see them.

JimMC,

Is there a reason that a manufacturer would design it this way? If not there must be a way to straighten them.

These pins seem to be the whole issue!

bnixon, Well it serves my ego to think the slanted pins are a large part of the difficulty but in reality my inexperience and other shortcomings must be a part of the mix. They are horizontal, not pointing up or down but they point back 10-15 degrees. Their mounting plane is well defined and the material quite thick so it is not an accident they point that way, it is design. I did think maybe I would make a "faring" block (beveled spacer thingy) to straighten them out but don't like to "mess" with another engineer's design when I don't know why they did what they did. I'lol have this worked out soon.
