When I said quick hitch, I thought it was obvious it was referring to the front loader difference between the newer models with the "quick" part and the older version with the "pin on" style. That was what you were showing and referencing.

Actually the part I was showing goes on the back ...

Looks like this mounted ...

IMG_20250615_065939276~3.jpg

And on my other tractor ... These are called "Quick Hitches".

IMG_20250831_142346620.jpg

Now this next picture is after I took the bucket off, and is the tractor side of the Skid Steer Quick Attach (SSQA) I'm sure it doesn't really weigh a lot, but I'd need to pull the pins to weigh it ... The black frame with the yellow handles ...

IMG_20240610_151247766.jpg

While the SSQA frame does add some extra weight to the loader side, and more to the back of the bucket, it probably isn't more than 50 Lbs, but without another pin on only loader and bucket to weigh, it's only a guess ... What I believe is the biggest reason the SSQA limits the lift capacity is because it pushes the load/weight out farther from the pins ... That's why with the above ballast box I needed to remove the bucket to be able to lift it, as not only was the weight of the bucket removed, but my attachment to lift was moved rearward, while I probably could have picked it up with the bucket, but just not high enough for the chain and scale to be used ... As I had moved it from where I built it to the barn, with the much heavier forks, but just barely off the ground ... 374.4Lbs +707.0 Lbs = 1081.4 Lbs ...

A stove that weighs 967lbs according to the shipping box

A 900 Lb stove has got to be a monster ... My gun safe is according to the manufacturer 1050 Lbs ... It is roughly 25" X 25" X 50" tall ... It is made out of solid 1/2" thick steel, with the door a solid 1" thick steel!

As a truck driver I see all kinds of bizarre weights listed, I don't trust them, that why I like my own scale ... I've had Bill of ladings state that it's 40,000 Lbs, but when I leave with my truck and trailer that empty is about 34,000 Lbs, it doesn't feel that heavy, so I weigh it on a Certified CAT Scale, and is barely 50,000 Lbs gross, also goes the other way too! Had a Bill of lading recently stated 812 Lbs AND only 3 Items ... Felt very HEAVY ... CAT Scale said I was 78,000+ Lbs! Does this look like 3 items? Or 812 Lbs? (They are semi-truck wheels!)

While I agree you need adequate rear ballast to lift safely with the front loader, I don't agree with that formula ... Lots of variables are at play, first would be where is the pivot point, both the front and the rear axles can't be the pivot point at the same time, since the loader is lifting on the front, the front axle is the pivot point and the one in danger of being overloaded, which is long before the rear tires are in the air. Also the hydraulics come into play in lifting capacity, not just how much weight you can stack on the back ...

Here I have liquid filled rear tires, along with 3" rear spacer which add about 75 Lbs per tire, then I have 75 Lb steel wheel weights, plus I have 275 Lbs of steel weight lifting plates on the BH frame, in addition to the 707 Lb rear Ballast Box, and who knows how much tongue weight from the trailer, which will vary as I drop from 150 gallons down to empty (150 X 8 = 1200) plus the 134 Lb tote, and the trailer itself ... Even with all that weight on it, I still can't lift any more weight in the front tote, (50 gallons = 400 Lbs) then when I only had the filled tires and Ballast Box on ...

Since I got my scale, I've noticed that the manufacturers weights are all over the place, and shipping weights are usually higher than just the item, and sometimes they are shipped two items at a time, so each item weight is really half the listed shipping weight ... That's why I listed the model numbers along with the weights ... Is it possible that my little chinese scale is inaccurate? Sure! Only thing I checked it against was the 22 Lb bag of cat food, maybe at 500 Lbs it would be off more ... I'm not home now, but I do have lots of bags of wood pellets I can stack up to get additional confirmation ...

I've driven my Kubota M6040 in town and onto their scales. With the grapple and rear blade attached - - 10,078.

That's almost as much as my pickup truck, trailer and tractor weigh together! 😁

Like I said earlier, I like numbers and knowing how much stuff weighs ... So after I got my new to me tractor chained down, I stopped at a scale ...

IMG_20250708_094634211.jpg

I was standing by the front axle, so actually going down the road the front axle would have been slightly less than listed ...

IMG_20250708_104356974~2.jpg

And just for fun ... 😊

The other day I had a load of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, it felt "HEAVY" on the tail ... So ... I weighed it!

IMG_20260114_072156132.jpg

We are only allowed 34,000 on that axle group!

Being overweight is shortening that cats life; just like being severely overweight will shorten yours.
It is nice to know the actual weight of different implements, thanks for that.
Didn't see that the cat was fat. If it's under 13 lbs. now, it should be alright.

I finally recently got a small scale that weighs up to 100lbs or so after being so curious over the years and NOW I have to get a larger scale because of you guys. I'm not taking the blame.

From what I understand, take a torque wrench for instance, to be the most accurate, you have to have the weight your looking at to be in the middle area of the scale. Say you need 100 foot lbs on a bolt, so you really need a 50 to 150 range torque wrench to be the most accurate. Same applies to a scale if you -really- need accuracy then the range you usually need should be around the middle of the scale. Not exactly in the middle but within 1/4 of the bottom and top of the range of the scale.

Yeah the -shipping- weight should be different as that takes into account the banding, plastic, cribbing, pallets, etc.
I also ran into the greatly imaginative customers and their "for sure" weights. As an LTL driver I had to pretty much double check the heavier weights, not so much the few cartons weight, but the steel and crates we had to at least guestamate them and if any great in-normality we would weigh them at the terminal and re-bill them.
We hauled for a local paper company and all of a sudden the weights were getting out of hand and our manager who was friends with the head of shipping found out the paper company started making heavier paper and didn't tell us. He made him pay for a couple of the over weight tickets we got.

Also like on my brush hog (rotary cutter) ... There shipping weight I doubt listed on the website doesn't include my optional slip clutch, or the safety chains on the front (in place of the plastic guards!) or the oil and grease it had when I weighed it!

When I bought it, I didn't have in mind buying the much heavier commercial rated 90" finish mower that was at the very top of its rating ...

I had a 1100 lb rechargeable hoist scale, no good for me, forgot to keep it charged and it quit on me.

I now have a 1100 lb hoist scale that uses batteries.

Woods RM48 rear mower 285 lb, my Dad's 6' rear blade 366 lb, 2 link chains for my L3540 ag tires 80 lb each, my BH92 18" bucket 149 lb, my Rhinox ripper tooth 147 lb, my Hein & Warner 3 ton jack 115 lb, my Dad's anvil 106 lb, I looked it up on the internet and it's cast iron-steel clad, not a real good one.

I'm also always curious about the weight of things.

I would open that rechargeable scale and replace the cell/s.
