Help with buying a cheap used mower

I bought a Simplicity 4212H used about 10 years ago. It is about 20 years old(experts correct me). It has a 12HP Briggs engine, hydrostatic drive, and a 36" deck. I paid 1000 dollars at a dealer. I thought that was high, but it has been going strong since. I am very happy with it. I mow about 1 acre.
