Serial numbers are required on a Kubota contract. What most dealers do is simply put TBD (To Be Determined) or 123456 in the serial number area and then once they know what the serial numbers are going to be fill out a contract correction sheet and get the customer to sign it showing the correct serial numbers.

If you didn't sign a contract then all bets are off. But if the dealer kept saying everything was OK, and the rates were OK then I'd make him hold that part of the deal. Maybe get yourself another attachment in the process, or some hooks and tires filled. Look, you both want the deal, and from what you have said your only 500-100 dollars away, right?
That should be good news.

I didn't buy a Kubota so this doesn't amount to a hill of beans.

I ordered a JD 4610 back in April of last year. At that time the finance was 5.9%. The tractor had to be ordered and took 2 months for delivery. In the meantime, the 5.9% went up to 6.9. The dealer said, since it was on order, I would get the 5.9% (which I did). Also, while the tractor was on order, JD came out with a rebate. I got that too.

This was all done over the phone. I didn't sign anything until they delivered it to my farm.

I guess the real question is why did it take your dealer over 4 months to get the tractor for you? That seems like an extraordinarilly long time to me. Something doesn't seem right here.

Serial Numbers are typically required on the contract. On my contract they wrote in the order number for the loader, then we amended the paperwork when it came in. The tractor and mower numbers were there at the original submission of the paperwork.
