3 pt mounted disc harrow (or discer). Notched blades on front axles.

They work well for secondary tillage on land that has been moldboard plowed. Typically can be used efficiently at relatively high travel speeds. (4-6 mph). Will not provide a suitable level seed bed for most seeded crops, though. Second or third passes if required should be at right angles to the first pass (cross dissing). Final pass, however should be parallel to the direction of your planting.

I have seen similar style reminiscence of the early 40's likely a Ford or MF design. Very light duty and built similar to the old mule drawn disk in framework.

Fella that owns it wants to trade for smaller 4' disc harrow which I have. He claims this is to large for his YM2000. I don't like my 4" Howse disc. All areas Im working are older pasture, sod busting. I usually use a moldboard plow first. I know the angle is adjustable on the one pictured. On my Howse the angle is not adjustable. The information you all have provided doesn't make this sound like an upgrade.

Probably not. His unit is wider, but disc diameter may be considerably worn down.
