I'm trying to print the thread on "Wood working(bug)" so my father can read it. I can't get it to "print to fit" (so to speak). It cuts it off on the right side and bottom in portrait. In landscape it just cuts off the bottom. I'm sure I'm missing something REALLY simple. Any ideas. Thanks.

Derek,

Though I'm no expert, I would click on "file" then page setup and adjust your margins to the smallest they can be.

I'm presuming your using IE though it might work in other browsers.

I tried that. It helped with the side margins. Those are o.k. now. But the bottom still gets cut off and there are a few lines of text missing between pages. I tried margins at 0.00" and it still does it on the bottom of the page. I noticed the print frames only option is grayed out. Is this just the way the software is. I am running Explorer 5.0 at work and 4.XX (??) at home.

As with most computer "how can I..." questions, there are probably several solutions. The following one is the quickest answer that I could come up with. It will work but may or may not be the best or easiest solution.

(1) display the thread in "FLAT" mode

Using the standard Windows shortcut keys to "Select All" (CTRL-A) or select certain text (position cursor at beginning of text and drag the mouse (hold down the left mouse button) to the end of the desired text, "Copy" into memory (CTRL-C), and "Paste" from memory (CTRL-V) perform either option (2) or (3) below. Note that this technique works in almost any Windows application.

(2) Highlight the entire thread (CTRL-A), copy into memory using (CTRL-C), then paste into a word processor (CTRL-V). It will paste in a table format which you can reformat the table as you desire, or you can move or copy/paste the desired text into a new document.

(3) Highlight each thread one at a time Then Copy & Paste the text into a Text editor for final formatting prior to printing.

Thanks for info on the short cut key strokes. I basically have doing the copy and pasting with mouse clicks and drags. I knew I could copy and paste to a word processor and then print (I should have mentioned that originally). But I just wanted it to be printed as it is on TBN, with the icons, signatures, etc.

Now for what ever reason at home I tried to print it just for the heck of it and it is working okay at home. Maybe the printer at work does page break right or something (I'm out of my bounds now).

Work computer
300 PII, Windows 95, Explorer 5.0, Okidata lazer printer (not sure of model number).

Home computer
233 MMX Windows 95, Explorer 4.72, Hp 722c inkjet

At least I can get it to print, at home. Laser is cheaper because its at work /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

Thanks for the advice.
