I'm working on modeling the hinge now - cast parts are always tricky, and it's large enough and oddly shaped so it's difficult to measure. So once I model the actual part I can design a weldment as a replacement if it is ever necessary.

I've been painting the parts with Valspar Cub Cad yellow because I have a few rattle cans on the shelf, and just found out Tractor Supply isn't selling the Valspar paint any more. I'm going to check a hardware store nearby that might carry it. Seems like just about everything at TSC is made in China, and most of it is cheap junk too. I am increasingly unhappy with TSC, but that's another topic...
