Help with top link adjustment for rotary cutter.

Hi hog,
It's definitely not what the cutter's made for...
That being said--they'll blow a large (up to 20") rotting stump to pieces lowering slowly...
Biggest solid one was cedar, about 16"--gently (how can you say that talking about a shredder?) working into it... took about 45 seconds...
Course those were pre-existing on the "lawn",... otherwise would've pulled & filled. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm going to try it on a 6" diam oak stump. Didn't want to saw it off with the chainsaw any closer to the ground (don't like dirt) and it ended up a bit higher than I want. When I get a chance, I will drop the RC on it gently and figure on taking it down a notch. Maybe I can get some pictures of before and after.
I have a tree field that I take a few Christmas trees out of, and the stumps are just a tad tall for the lawn mower. I take those down with the RC.

Yea - I'm definitely going to try it. My RC is supposed to be HD and has clipped 3-4in locust trees off and sounded worse than it was - I wouldn't want to use it on a regular basis for that.
I have some stumps that are a couple of years old that I have been reluctant to saw any lower too for the same reason, and due to the slope they are on are too risky to try to dig with the FEL.
I was even thinking about what modifications could be done to some old blades, or even adapting something like stump grinder teeth to bolt on to the stump jumper in place of the blades
I won't get any seat time this weekend though - Got a HS graduation (my son) to attend /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
