If you have any paper mills around, you may be able to get the waste slurry. It's just mushy paper, but it's all organic and usually dirt cheap. Then till it in and fertilizer (it will suck up all your fertility). Takes a year or so to break down, but it will help thicken up sandy soils like we have and will help to loosen up heavy clay like you have.
