Not sure if one thing has anything to do with the other , but I will include everything-Parked my Ford 850 gas tractor after grading the drive two weeks ago. Ran fine-no problems. This tractor does not smoke or use oil. Went to use again and it cranked for 3-5sec without starting-always starts within a revolution or two. Looked in gas tank and appeared empty-checked with a stick and it was dry. Added some gas and attempted to start again. Cranked a few secnds and then battery died-never before a problem-put batt on charger for 3 hrs cleaned everything and replaced. Tractor started right up as usual. When I touched the steering wheel fluid squirted out about 3 feet near the power steering pump. Thought I blew a hose. Couldn't see any breaks so I removed the pump belt and started the tractor again. Same results-oil spewing every where. Now I could see it coming out of thr breather cap with such force it was bouncing off the block and spaying around. I checked the breather on the valve cover, and it was not clogged. I realize that some blow by is common as rings wear-but I can't grasp going from no problem to immense problem after sitting for 2 weeks. The baffle in the filler tube is in place. It is OK at idle-starts to spew at 1000rpm and at PTO speed is dumping a qt a minute. I ran it a total of maybe 2 minutes checking it and i was down 2 qts-over the years I have never had to add oil between changes. Does not appear to be antifreeze in the oil-the oil pressure is normal-I have not done a compression check yet, but it runs smooth not like a cyl or 2 is not firing. Not sure where to start looking???? Any advise will be appreciated Thanks, Bill
