It will be interesting to see how this plays out in January.

Anyone want to make side bets that the old lady will pay?..While past performance is not ALWAYS an indicator of future action.. I am thinking, based upon her past actions that Shield wont have any money out of her by January.

I got ten bucks that says she will default. AND I will pay it in US $$'s

I have known my SISTERS neighbor since I was 12 or so years old, Spent Christmas Day with him and will be heading there New Years Day as well. I mowed his yard when I was 12+ and when I left to join military & came back he was still my sisters neighbor. We (sister her hubby and him had dinner together nightly after I got out of military for years, when she got sick, he did the cooking & cleaning for her. Even though by then he was in his 70's, now he is 94 still a good person and has never had a family to spend much of his time with.


Good people are hard to come by, keeping one around is just what I would say is normal... Felt great to see him as it had been a while on Christmas Day! He (even after my sisters passing) was so engrained in the family we took him to dinners regularly at my other sisters house... Now at 94 it has been hard for him to get out so reason we made dinner and took it to him & making some more for New Years Day...

You just had to remind me of my ongoing neighbor/nightmare problems, you just had to! - I take their trash to the dump each week - I take care of the gravel road out to the blacktop without asking or expecting recompense - I take care of their house and pets when they're out of town - I take care of the fallen logs on the said road so they don't have to And then to top it all off, the absolute worst nightmare of all: We'll be having them over for dinner tomorrow! It's a weekly affair, but someone's gotta do it! There's probably a couple other nightmare's I'm forgetting about my ongoing neighbor/nightmare problem, but that's probably enough for TBN's delicate sensitivities for one night! Ok enough, I get it: Back to "the check's in the mail"!

Dang, this just sounds like if my dad was talking about me. My dad is somewhat a neighbor ( +\- 1500 ft from me) and he is retired and he have a tractor . I am working on the road, so he is like my property manager / warden !

No sorry, I don't live in Siberia (or places like it - no offense). It's in the high 30's/low 40's here and windy and I'm staying inside where I'm keeping my 30-NC stoked, I don't do cold.


And bad news about my neighbor this morning: Their cat died. About 20 years old, just stopped eating. And in light of this, everyone does know that my previous post about a neighbor nightmare was an attempt at humor, yes? Great people, it hurt when I visited them this morning and they still had tears in their eyes.

RAINBOW BRIDGE

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Yes there are lots of good neighbours around. I'm lucky to have many that would help me out if I needed help. The one right next door works back and forth on a regular basis, just lately he called to say he needed some parts off an old plow I had and how much would I want for it. I told him to help himself to it and maybe I could use his backhoe for a couple hours, His reply was leave the backhoe where it is we'll bring the high hoe and do twice as much in half the time. Yep a real good neighbour.

I'm going to print that out and see if we can organize a little ceremony for the neighbor's cat. They plan to cremate, then spread the ashes over their property. Perhaps this would be a good little speech for that.
