Seeders Herd seeder new M-96 or used 750

I can get either the m-96 new or the herd 750 used. It seems the M-96 fits my uses better but the used 750 would be abut $200.00 less than the M-96 and it's in excellent condition just a few rust spots. I had given the guy a very low offer then it was listed local and now if I want it it's mine since it didn't sell for what he was asking.

The 750 is a big unit and my concern is if it will be an overkill for what we're doing. I'm only going to be farming at most 30-35 acres of open field.

I've got a Herd F-160, which is essentially a larger version of the M96. (They're no longer in Herd's line-up) I also share ownership of a model 750 spreader with my brother-in-law. The M96/F-160 is a really good seeder. The 750 is a much heavier duty SPREADER. It'll handle big loads of fertilizer, lime, ect. An issue to consider, can you use the larger size? With a full load of fertilizer, will your tractor handle the weight?

But.....also worth considering, the bargain on the 750 might enable you to buy it, use it, and re-sell at a later date. They're VERY popular spreaders.
