Herd seeder spreader

I located a used Herd Seeder Spreader Mod.750. It has not been used that much but has been setting out. I have looked it over somewhat it's not locked or frozen up and the drive shaft is OK! What other pieces or parts do I need to examine closely for a machine that has seen everything Mother Nature has had to offer for ????? long.

Is the seed gate slide made from Stainless? I think the PTO and spinner and the gate mechanism is about the extent of what I would be concerned with.

If you can get it for a good price.....I'd snap it up and clean and paint it up over the winter. Nice find! :thumbsup:

I agree with foggy. I just got a used Herd seeder and plan on doing exactly that with mine. The only problem I have had so far is a little sticking on the seed gate.

Well upon further inspection it appears the the spinner will have to be replaced. It's aluminum and is broken on one side. I'm still checking the gauge area and it appears OK. Will just have to see if or how much corrosion is present in this area and how well it can be cleaned up. Would still appreciate any further comments about something to watch for or be cautious about!

If the price is right, just about any part of it can be fixed.
