Beryl seems to be heading towards us in Tyler. We received an inch of rain last night from the outer bands that was heavy for awhile, with a bunch of thunder and lightning. Our local News is saying we should get between 5 to 7 inches of rain today, and to expect flooding. They usually exaggerate everything, so who knows? I bought 20 gallons of gas for my generator just to be safe.

A month or so ago we had a series of storms that lasted three days with the first day having winds in the 60mph range. That pushed over a bunch of trees all over the area, including my place. A couple weeks ago, we had another storm that had strong winds, and more trees fell over. I haven't counted, but I'm guessing that I have at least two dozen big trees on the ground. Some are snapped off near the base, others came out with the root ball. Falling trees is probably our biggest concern with Beryl.

To be safe, and to deal with anything that might happen, I'm taking the day off staying home.

11 am and they have issued tornado warnings. Local News also said that tornadoes from hurricanes are not as bad as normal tornadoes. I don't know what that means, but for some reason, they felt the need to say that. Winds are expected to hit 70mph when it gets here. So far, it's just been mild wind and steady rain.

I’m guessing the tornadoes tend to be a lower category and don’t develop into the monsters. It’s still not good. Hang in there Eddie.

EW, I saw one forecast that said 10" of rain MIGHT be possible in the Rose Capital. Just west, and we've
been getting mist but now starting to rain. Expect 2 -5" according to tv weather guys.
Ya'll will be getting the worst of this coming mess. Stay safe.

We're just west of the center and it's just cloudy and breezy, a quick shower early this morning.
Funny how that works with hurricanes.
Could've used an inch or so of rain.

Hope the flooding and wind isn't too bad for my East Texas brethren!

Local News is showing where tornados may be popping up. None are real close, but one is pretty close to the job I'm supposed to be at today.

Rain is getting heavier and the wind is starting to pick up.

I think there are 6 tornado watches on the TV screen right now. We haven't heard of anything touching down, but they are all heading North West, and towards my place. I feel like a duck during hunting season. One of those pellets is probably going to hurt. :)

Rain is getting heavier and heavier. Wind isn't bad at all right now.

Still just steady rain with a little wind. So far, nothing significant at my place. There might be a tornado on the ground about 20-30 miles away. Maybe a bigger one a little farther out. I'm not sure if there are two, or just different reports on the one. I just counted 7 tornado alerts on the TV News radar.

So far so good. Steady moderate rain since 9 am. Wind is gusty at times up to 33 MPH.

Same here (west of Tyler). I like a little rain. But I don't need 5" all at one time. Hope it will stay steady, wind fairly calm, then just fade out to nada.

We're in the path of the latest tornado warning. I think there are 9 possible tornadoes right now, but so far, nothing has been confirmed as touching down. Winds have really picked up!!!! Our rain gauge is showing 2 1/2 inches so far today.

Tornado threats for my area are gone. I don't know if there was any that touched down, just a lot of maybe's.

Wind and rain is still strong. My rain gauge shows 3 1/2 inches so far for today. Plus we had one inch last night, so 4 1/2 inches in less than 24 hours.

Thanks for the updates @EddieWalker

We had a small rain band came through yesterday afternoon. Today its been a bit windy, but not much rain.

Looks like the baseball field I'm working on up in Natchitoches is about to get a good rain band in a few minutes. I was hoping to get back up there tomorrow, but that won't happen.

We're about an hour north of Eddie. Rain has been steady and moderate since 9 or 10 this morning. I was expecting more wind or thunder, but so far it has been a soaking rain.

Our 3rd kid lives north of Houston. It was a bit worse there, but no major issues for them.
