Tractor
Mahindra 1533
I need your help and wisdom again. I just got my Mahindra 1538 serviced. $600.00 worth. I got it back and drove it a little bit to check things out. I saw smoke, like fumes coming from the front part of the engine and just figured that it was left over fluid burning off from where they had changed things. I parked it and was busy with other things. I looked over toward the tractor and there was something dripping from underneath. I started looking to find out what it was. Anyway after my checking I end up at the good ol spin off fuel filter. It was a constant drip. I unplug it and the plug doesn’t have the yellow gasket thing and the wires broke off. Also no O ring on the sensor. I snip off the plug, clean everything off and drove 30 miles one way to get another plug. They give me the part and I look at it and there is another plug on the end of the pigtail. Oops,I shouldn’t have snipped it off (maybe, but the wires were broken off) but I was snipped off. They sell me a pig tail that has a plug on each end. I was confused and now even more confused. I don’t know know where that other plug goes. And I snipped off the plug that the wires were broken from and I haven’t taken off the wrap that is on the wires because I was very ticked off and now, yes now I don’t know how to reconnect the wire. I got some pictures this morning with hope that some of you could help me again. I called the owner and left him a message because he had been rather rude to me at the shop. The guys working there are all new and they are learning. It is craziness up there. I don’t want to deal with them anymore and I luckily found the guys that left there and are working at another shop. I don’t want to ask them because I always know to come here first. If you guys don’t know then I will call them.

Sorry to hear about your problems. How long is the connector you bought? That might give you a clue as to where it goes. If this thread is reposted in the Mahindra owning operating forum then it might be visible to others with the same tractor and they could help.

That was enough to confuse me. I don't see anything that looks like a spin off fuel filter in your pictures. Nor did I know fuel filters have wires.

I hope you find help. 😵‍💫

No doubt it's a connector for a water sensor. A number of tractor fuel filters have them now. The loss of which is no big deal. Unless of course, the tractor has a computer that monitors that among other things, and puts up a fuss because it's not there. Stopping the leak at the bottom of the filter is more important.

Make a list of the faulty work, every detail.
Get your local NEWS CREW on speed dial... Go back to the shop and tell them to make it perfect or you'll call the news crew and do a nice little community service piece out front of their shop!
$600 and they frigged up you rig...

Dealership was suppose to call yesterday. Nothing. Nothing today either. I am attaching better pictures. Maybe that would help with less confusion. The first picture is the old plug that plugs into the water sensor on the bottom of the filter. You can see the yellow thing isn’t there. It has to be. Then the pigtail. This pigtail shows another plug on the end. My tractor doesn’t have a plug going into the wire. Third photo is the wire. My bad if this is not the r correct place to post this. I just want to be back to work with the tractor. Thank you for responding and looking.

Thank you. I posted there after I read your response. It is only about 10 inches long. I just have a wire going to the power. Not another plug.

Ok. 😂 Well this one does. I have clouded and thundered and now they are making me wait. I guess they are after this mistake. They are probably having to fix their other mistakes. Grrr

Good idea. They certainly did. I cannot stand shoddy work. I never have had one problem from them. Now the owner wants me to believe it was me. I am not buying what junk he is selling me. I blistered him with a video to his smart remarks in front of the guys at the dealership, Sunday. I have had it.
