thats nice looking work and pretty impressive torch cuts of the plow or bevel piece even if you did grind for 2 hours after. I know i would have had to and it still wouldn't look like that.
Thanks, no grinding necessary. It is just getting drug into the ground.
Good stuff, I built a nearly identical trencher for running pex out to the garden for a sprinkler system. I have a question on the tooth bar. I plan on building one soon. Do you need the pre cut angle on the teeth or can straight out be just as effective? Never tried one so I am unsure but I guess I would have went straight out and I want to do it right. Please advise.
Thanks.
I'm not sure, but I like the way mine works. It's the only one I've ever used. The main support that goes across the bucket floor ends up making the teeth angle down, plus it causes the teeth to intersect with the under bucket supports.
What steel did you use for your tooth bar? I could realy one.
It is just mild steel. Nothing fancy.

Here is a couple things I recently built for my tractor. The tractor is a Shibaura SD1840 with a FEL. I've had it for about 7 years and it has been completely trouble free and a real great tool to have around.

Anyway, I built a bolt on tooth bar for the FEL and "potato plow" for the back. I built it mostly for trenching. I hang a block of concrete from the hook to help it really dig down deep.

well I had a thing like this in mind for a couple yrs. So this summer with the need to put in underground sprinklers I built a proto type to test. My idea was to put in on the front of my skidsteer and backup with it. Also to be able to move it to 3 positions sides and middle. Well it didn't work. I would work in the middle some but not the sides as it pulled to much and I could not steer. Anyway you did a really nice job.
One thing I also wanted to add was a way to attach the line to bottom of the plow and pull it right into the ground, like they do with gas lines. I had some success with that as well but it was not accurate enough for sprinklers. So I gave up and rented a trencher which works much better, makes a cleaner cut line and is accurate.

Now to find a broken trencher to mount to the front of my bobcat with a oil drive pump and a slide rail for moving side to side. Any store bought attachment trenchers are mostly very large and dig quite deep
