Spencer,
Well, with the rear wheel in the way, this was not the easiest thing to do, but I did remove the cover per your request and snapped a couple of pictures. Because of the wheel, I could not get the same perspective you did, but I think it shows the installation error you described.

On this photo, I tried to show the space between the collar of the 3ph lever and the remote lever and the deflection of the remote collar on the axle (obviously, I don't know the real names for these parts, but I think you will know what I am talking about). You have to look closely at the bottom to see this space as there is a hose or something in the way. As the remote lever was coerced into the outside slot, the collar moved toward the end of the axle and is deflected downward on the outside of the axle and upward on the inside.

I attempted to place the lever in the center slot and had the same result you did on your original installation. The remote lever interferes with the 3ph lever, making both of them unusable. Therefore, I moved the remote lever back to the outside slot until I can get the dealer to make the repair. I will let him know that he needs to order a new lever arm as some of these are bent wrong. I guess it is possible that the angles on the 1st remote levers differ slightly from those for the 2nd remote and they may have packages a second remote lever by mistake. Don't know about this but I would like to think that these levers are mass produced in a way where there would not be much variation from one to the next.

Sorry I did not take a picture of the lever interference with the remote in the center slot. Ran out of time. Was getting dark and had to get everything put back together. Again, was wishing the rear wheel was not in the way.

Hope these pictures satisfy your request. Please don't ask me to take it apart again, though. Would have to politely decline.

Bruce

That's what it looks like to me,

Standard tolerances of a bent bar of that size would be ~ +/-.040". 100 year old machinery could make that lever all day any day. Likely be made on a CNC punch & break press today. Somebody either drew it up wrong, or programmed the machine wrong & Q/C didn't catch it.

bmac, thanks for taking the time to get the photos. I apoligize for not replying sooner but I just hopped online for a moment in my hotel room using my cell phone as a modem. I've been on the road since last Friday but I thought I would pop in on TBN to get a fix.

Not a problem. Now, get home and hop on that tractor.

Hope the pictures illustrated what you wanted. Again, having the rear wheel on made getting a good image next to impossible (at least with my photographic skills).

I will be home tonight and I am bringing a new tractor project with me. I just installed some equipment in a restaurant down in Kentucky and the owners of the restaurant also owned a tractor dealership. They gave me a bargain on a new toothbar but I think it will be a couple of inches too big for my bucket. The price I got will more than make up for the trouble I may have to go through to make it fit. I'll start a new thread on that with pictures when I get home. I will need some advice from my fellow TBNer's.

Can't wait to see the modified toothbar Spence. Maybe those welding classes you took will come in handy. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Bob, the one I got doesn't have teeth as long as yours but the teeth are the removable kind. I really love the way yours looks with those extra long teeth. Every time you post that picture I start to drool. Any toothbar is better than no toothbar (unless you ask buildings, fences, trees, vehicles, etc.)

Yep, I know. Already ran into the side of the garage door jamb when I was backing up the 4710 into the garage. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Just didn't anticipate the FEL and the extended teeth of the toothbar to hit the door jamb when I made just what I thought was a small maneuver to straighten out the tractor while backing up.

I don't post much in the NH forums but for the benefit of those who haven't seen my toothbar and would like to drool a little bit along with Spence, I've attached a pic. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Got the 756C backhoe installed on the TC29D last week. Dealer dropped it by my house Friday evening. Here's a photo.
