Cool new sig MR!

Any idea how to make the background "transparent"? On my skin, yours shows as white background against light grey sheet, same as mine.

Thomas,

Around here, I think people are saying "here we go again... finally" /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. We got about 8" since yesterday and it's still falling lightly. It's a beautiful snow. Just wet enough to stick like glue to everything.

This morning was my first shot at plowing our driveway. I need lots more practice. Started off by cutting the wheel too sharp before getting out of my new "Cover-it" shelter. Lucky I didn't take the whole thing down. Instead I just put a small 2" cut in the bottom with the FEL and learned another good lesson /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif. Until I get more practice I'll with hold judgement on how much I like using the rear blade. The FEL did a pretty good job though!

Have Fun!

Dave

Yeah, I saw that. There is a transparent option in the gif animator. Maybe it means what it says/w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif! I'll try it at home tonight.

Hmmm...hate to say but here in sunny Alberta we are "enjoying" +8 Celsius weather. Our normal is supposed to be somewhere around -15 Celsius. The little bit of snow that we had is rapidly melting /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif. Please send some our way!!!

As a side-note....does anyone read the "Farmer's Almanac". Boy they couldn't have been MORE wrong about our weather. By now we were supposed to have way more than normal snow and it was supposed to be (and I quote) "bitterly cold" in our region. I'm thinking of publishing "Kevin's Almanac" next year...I can't do any worse on the predictions /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif.

It rained here in Southern Quebec all day yesterday. Most of what little snow we had was quickly melting. Of course today it's 14 degrees and and everything is frozen solid - makes for great driving conditions /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif. I bought a brand new snow blower in December and I'm going to go into withdrawal if I don't get a chance to use it soon /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Here in Ohio, I think that we've had between 4-5" in the past 24 hours... The kids in town love it - "SNOW DAY"! I still have to work... /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Sharpsburg, MD aka Western Maryland.

We got our first snow of the season beginning yesterday afternoon.

It would snow, then sleet, then rain. Over and over... all day. Got around 4 inches of the heavy wet stuff.

Got up this morning, made coffee, watched the news too see what was going on weather and driving-wise for the Washington Metro area. Basically, West and Northwest of the DC area got the snow.

Took the tarp off of the tractor, fired it up to warm. About an hour later, I was done. This was the first time to move snow with my tractor. Still have a few things to learn. No chains. Slipped a little on our biggest hill while using the rear blade. May need to add some wheel weights to assist in traction.

Got to work a couple of hours late.

Terry

So far the famers ALmanac tad off here also, and the weather station was way off on this storm for our area.."3to5 inches" so they said late last evening.
If one does the math..3 divide by 15 does equal 5..than the weather station came close. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif
17" and still snowing...picture taken at 7:30am /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Where that darn snow valve..had enough. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Here in South Eastern Michigan the weatherman said we had 1" of snow. /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif I am not blind and can tell 4" from 1". /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif When the weatherman cannot tell me how much snow I can see fell. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif How can I depend on him to forecast the correct amount tonight? /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif Sounds like your going to get a lot of tractor seat time. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Thomas,
I am with you. We got about the same amount of snow here in Schenectady NY.

Hey MossRoad have you got much snow up your way yet? I know we don't live that many miles apart, but I think you tend to get quite a bit more snow than we do, maybe living closer to the lakes? We have only got about an inch so far in the Warsaw/Columbia City/Ft. Wayne area and they are calling for some warm temperatures later this week.

We had about 3-5 inches of really wet heavy stuff on Saturday afternoon/evening. I ran out and plowed it as fast as I could just for the seat time. Most of it would have melted off the blacktop by Sunday afternoon had I not plowed at all. It made for great snow man making with my wife and kids.

Egon,

We didn't, but in some ways I wish we had to. We (my father and I) have a moose hunting camp in Northern Quebec. We used to have to fly in by float plane. We built the place in my father's basement - piece by piece, numbered it, took it apart and flew it up (6 trips with DeHavillend (sp?) Otter). Now with logging operations there are roads all over the place and quite a few hunters. I don't imagine they'll stick around for too many seasons. It's pretty weird. It used to be an area that would take your life if you got lost, now there's these guys hunting on the roads wearing blue jeans and running shoes./w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif Now we just pull it out of the woods with the ATV and then load it into the pick-up.
