I've been learning how to drive a tractor on the Internet for months now and finally I ordered mine yesterday.

I kidded my dealer (Mike's Repair in Burlington), that when he gets together with all his tractor salesman buddies, he can brag that he'd stepped me from an electric push mower (my only ag equipment for 15 years) all the way to a cab tractor. Before that the only other lawn machine I've ever owned was a 10 HP Case 210.

However, I work EXPO in L'ville every year and after my sales duties are finished, I dig holes and move dirt...for the fun of it, so I know I'm going to love this beast.

After living in the city for 15 years, we just got a place with four acres whose landscaping is so catastrophically ******, it was easier just to get a tractor-loader, brush hog & box blade and fix it myself...can't wait til spring. I also got pallet forks.

The reason I got it NOW though was for snow removal.

I'll be asking plenty of dumb questions here so please be patient.

I started out wanting a big old Ford, but quickly figured out what I really needed was a 30 HP CUT and so I looked at used New Hollands. Once I found out that small cab tractors were available, I had to have one.

But there was no way I could swing 40 stacks, and after I found out that LS was their OEM, it was a match.

I've bought two new cars in my life for a total of $15k, so this took months to justify.

MrFoully. Welcome. You will love it. The cab is worth every penny believe me. I put a 7' snow box on mine which does a great job, (I have all paved drive). A box might not be the right choice in all applications. You can move tons with the regular bucket. Good luck.

From Northwest Alabama. I seem to be on my tractor a lot more than I expected too. Seems there is always something needing to be done. The wife says I'm just playing around to get out of the house.

Mine was $27,980. I drove about 5 hours to pick it up but was $3,200 less than my local dealer. I gave them the chance to match it or come close but they couldn't. Didn't really try. I would have bought local if it was a few hundred.

Mine was 28000.from the local dealer. Priced a few on the Internet by the time you figure in drive to me it is not worth it. Plus I have a great dealer.

$27,500...I work for an outdoor power distributor and my local dealer is one of our customers, so I got the homeboy hookup.

I shopped the galaxy for a used New Holland and was ready to drive long distance until I heard of LS.

Update: My homeowner's insurance will cover even a new, expensive-for-me tractor as long as it doesn't leave my property and the tractor has landed at the dealer...it's being delivered Monday.

You will really enjoy you new XR4046HC. We picked ours right before Thanksgiving 2014 and, even though it is still our small tractor, it's getting about 2 hours for every 1 hour on our 96 HP New Holland TL100A.

Keep us posted on your "seat time".
