Howdy... new to the forum...so starting off with a likely easy question. I have an Allis 190xt (cat 2) that has a 7+ft. rear wheel base. I'm looking to get a back blade or box blade for the driveway. Is 8ft. enough to keep the tires off of the driveway edges or would you go bigger?? Looking forward to being an active member. Got some Allis questions to come! :)

crash63,

If your looking for a heavy duty multi function back blade take a look at these from Bison Our Products - Bison. I have the 96" NHVH 242XHD unit and it can use up to three remotes. I use two that came with it. My Mahindra dealer was able to order this unit when I purchased my 5530 4wd Turbo - (55hp). Also I used it to plow open my 1/3 mile drive this past winter. I also have sliced below surface 6" pine trees, by tilt & angling the hydraulic assist blade. A very impressive unit and more than pleased with it.

welome.

for an angle blade I like to get one a lil wider than the tires so I can angle it and still cover tracks. eventually this gets you to a point where it's too big or won't spin around fully.. so use best judgement when eyeing up.

on box blade, again.. i like to cover my tracks.. but you can run out of hp fast .. or traction even faster, if you are wanting to use scarfiers..

good luck!

Thanks for the info gents... my driveway is about 300 yards long and I fear that my large tractor/cab & heavy loader will sink into the yard if I get too close to the edge. The edges of the drive are building up due to weight and me dragging my bucket down the middle...:) Thanks for the info though, I'll check that site out!
