I'm another newbie signing on.
I had a Kubota B1700 w/FEL and LandPride 60" finish mower I bought 10 years ago used. I really worked that little bugger and it was always reliable until recently when a piston pack in the Hydrostatic unit sheared off. While I had it in for repair I had a few other things repaired so it'd be like new. Fortunately or not, while it was in for repair, we got a snow and I borrowed my neighbors 30hp Farmtrac. It was so much faster at clearing the snow, it made me consider an upgrade.
Well, by my handle you can see what I traded up for. I was apprehensive about another HST but with this much bigger tractor and the fact I use the tractor for mowing 75% of the time, I was convinced it was still the way to go.
I ended up buying a L3700SU HST w/LA524 FEL and a WOODS PRD7200 finish mower.
I've already made some modifications to the 66" bucket by welding on some chain hooks and I purchased a set of bolt-on teeth. I added a rear hydraulic connection and work light
I've only put about an hour on it since its delivery but so far I'm like a kid at Christmas. Either 'let it snow' or get warm so I can mow grass.
I'll also be taking it in the woods to help me with the yearly firewood collection. I think this machine will be a big help there.
I have already posted in another thread looking for help extending the snow chains I purchased for my B1700. I've determined I need to buy a set of chain pliers to make the job manageable.
Thanks all for reading. You can tell I'm stoked about my new purchase.
Looking forward to getting advice and contributing to this site.
